Anti-Tarnish 925 Silver
Also known as sterling silver, 925 silver is composed of 92.5% pure silver.
At La Voie Lactée, we use anti-tarnish treated 925 silver, designed to naturally slow oxidation and preserve the brilliance of the jewelry for longer.
This treatment helps to reduce darkening caused by air and humidity, make daily care easier and maintain a luminous and elegant finish
925 silver remains a timeless choice, appreciated for its softness, shine, and comfort when worn.
A simple cleaning in a silver solution allows the jewelry to look like new again.
Vermeil
Vermeil is a precious metal made of a 925 sterling silver base coated with a thick layer of gold. Unlike standard gold plating, vermeil meets strict jewelry standards, offering a refined finish and better durability.
Vermeil means:
a base of 925 sterling silver (92.5% pure silver)
a gold coating of at least 10 karats — ours is 24-karat gold, for a rich and luminous tone
a minimum thickness of 2.5 microns of gold
Rhodium-Plated Vermeil
With rhodium plated vermeil, rhodium replaces the thick gold layer to offer the same color as white gold. It therefore combines the nobility of gold with the strength of silver, offering an elegant finish well suited for regular wear.
Each vermeil piece is crafted with care to preserve the balance between finesse, resistance, and brilliance.
Like all precious finishes, vermeil requires certain precautions to preserve its beauty over time.
Repeated friction, contact with creams, perfumes, chemicals, or water may, over time, affect the plating and lead to natural wear of the gold layer.
We therefore recommend:
removing your jewelry before showering, exercising, or sleeping
avoiding contact with cosmetic or household products
storing your jewelry away from humidity when not worn
These simple precautions help significantly extend the brilliance of vermeil and allow its refinement to be enjoyed for many years.
10k Solid Gold
10k solid gold is a precious metal known for its strength and longevity.
Designed to be worn day after day, it retains its beauty without tarnishing and naturally resists the marks of time.
It is important to note that white gold contains copper.
